From the recording TRENCHCOAT MANIFESTO: WHICH MOMENT
Lyrics
He dwells on the dark side of town
Where the homeless hang around
And lead dust settles over everything
He rents a room
In a tenement house
That reeks like bodies
Could be buried in the basement
The floorboards creek
Almost giving way
Offering only grudging support
The walls are cracked and oppressive
The light outside flickers
As he fumbles for the door
Inside the radiator jettisons steam
So that everything's dripping
Like a swamp in some primordial scene
The dishes piled in the kitchen
Have long ago defeated him
And they crawl
On the dripping walls
Are the bodies of his victims
Cockroaches crushed with the slippers
He keeps next to his beer
As he watches television
Their mangled bodies
Left to remain
As a warning
